Quality Engineer

What To Expect
This role will lead quality efforts to support the production of high-quality exhaust systems and components through the continual improvement of process and product quality.
What You’ll Do
- Lead efforts with engineering and production teams to ensure design drawings, manufacturing instructions, and inspection instructions are consistent and complete
- Play a vital role in the implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System in compliance with ISO9001 standards
- Interface directly with our OEM customers
- Create and submit PPAP, PFMEA, and APQP related documents
- Lead problem-solving teams; use of QA methodologies to manage and facilitate issue resolution including root cause investigations and the development, implementation, and monitoring of effective corrective and preventive actions
- Establish and maintain control plans to ensure critical features are controlled through the production processes
- Lead/facilitate review and disposition of non-conforming materials identified for control of nonconforming product
- Establish quality performance metrics and drive issues to true root cause solutions
- Audit manufacturing lines against released manufacturing processes and procedures
- Lead/perform product containment activities and arrange for disposition
- Support and generate continuous improvement ideas and work on cost reduction projects
- Other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in OEM motorsports, automotive, or similar manufacturing environments
- Experience operating under ISO:9001, IATF17949 or similar standards
- Experience in GD&T and Quality systems in a manufacturing environment
- Training and demonstrated success in applying quality problem solving methods such as fishbone diagrams, FMEA, process capability analysis, hypothesis testing, DoE, SPC, Six Sigma etc.
- Ability to periodically lift up to 35 lbs
- Ability to sit and/or stand 8+ hours per day
- Ability to speak and write fluently in the English language
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $70,000 – $100,000 per year + benefits + potential bonuses
- Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
- Health Insurance: 100% employer paid (50% for dependents), Anthem Blue Cross PPO, begins first day of the month following 60 days.
- Paid Time Off: Assuming a full-time work schedule, one should expect to accrue 2 weeks PTO in the first 0-3 years, 3 weeks PTO in the following 3-6 years, and 4 weeks PTO for 6+ years of employment.
- Retirement: Factory Pipe contributes an amount equal to 10% of an employee’s annual gross wages into a Simplified Employee Pension (SEP) program. 15% has been contributed for the last 30 years.To be eligible, you must have completed services for Factory Pipe in at least 3 of the proceeding 5 years. The employee does not contribute to the SEP program.
- Profit Sharing: To be eligible, you must have worked at Factory Pipe for a minimum of 500 hours during the year and still be working at Factory Pipe the following year when the profit sharing is paid out.
- 6 paid holidays: eligible after the first pay period following the 60th day of employment.
